Following our highly successful previous Headspace events we are delighted to offer this opportunity for school leaders to pause, reflect and to reconnect to the important things.

Keynote speaker:

Nadia Hewstone

Nadia is an educational author and leadership coach. She will lead delegates in how to master your role, tackle the tough bits and make your school and trust successful. She will leave you with tools for remaining strategic and will challenge you to think differently about who you are and how you lead.

There will be opportunities to learn through deep reflection, sharing ideas and experiences with colleagues and reconnecting to important personal values. We will discuss individual wellbeing strategies to give you a professional isotonic refresh to get you to the end of the school year and to help you get the best from the summer break.

As an integral part of the programme, there is free access to Hythe Imperial’s Spa facilities heated swimming pool, jacuzzi and gymnasium.

Outline Programme

Day 1: Thursday 27th June

1.30: Welcome – registration, introductions and networking with
refreshments

2.00 – 2.45: Introduction:

  • Appreciative enquiry – a tool for growth.
  • Round table discussion with plenary feedback – reflections on the year

2.45 – 3.45: Research informed leadership

Prior to the event delegates will have been provided with a short article on a piece of educational research. Delegates will be invited to share their thinking in small groups about the research and how it could inform their practice with plenary discussion following.

3.45 – 4.00: Plenary discussion, learning and preparation for day 2

4.00: Delegates check in to rooms with time to access hotel and spa facilities, swimming pool, gym and pre-booked spa treatments

6.30: Meet in the bar for pre-dinner drink, with evening meal at 7.00

Day 2: Friday 28th June

Breakfast is available from 7.30 to 10.00

10.00 – 10.30: Reflections on learning from day 1

10.30 – 12.30: Nadia Hewstone – The happy headteacher

Nadia will lead delegates through a range of practical tools to power up your strategic planning, strengthen relationships, negotiate successful solutions and provide time to scan the horizon. Delegates will receive a free copy of Nadia’s book to explore their learning further from this session.

12.45 – 1.45: Lunch

1.45 – 2.30: Co-coaching discussions to reflect on learning and develop personalised action plans.

2.30 - 2.45: Plenary discussion and conclusions then access to
pool, gym and hotel facilities
